Merging Media
(and our predecessor companies), have been tenants in the
Terminal Buildings since 1987.
We began
business as a design and communications company called
Electronic Images, and rented a few offices on the 2nd
floor of
313 East Carson Street. Soon we found it necessary to occupy the
entire second floor of this building, about 10,000 sq ft of
space. The property owners were very accommodating as we
designed the space to meet our needs. The highlight of this
phase was the construction of a sophisticated audio and video
digital media studio which is unique in Pittsburgh, and is still
core to our operations today.
As we grew over
the years, we required more space.
We expanded our
digital photography operation in 1990,
and housed this business
unit across the street in the East Building, eventually
occupying an additional 20,000 sq ft of space on 4 contiguous
floors.
In 1997,
Electronic Images was acquired by USWeb, which helped accelerate
our growth even further. In 1999 we built a sophisticated
Internet technology center in
10,000 sq ft of space in the West
Building. At our peak in 2000, we occupied 40,000 sq ft of space
in three adjacent River Walk properties, and had over 65
employees. In 2001, we re-acquired our company from USWeb, and
launched a new start-up called Merging Media.
The
River Walk Corporate Centre has been our home for nearly 15 years. And
we look forward to 15 more. |
