The Dollar Energy Fund is a not-for-profit organization in the
state of Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1983 by a coalition of
concerned community and business leaders
to address the utility payment crisis faced by low-income
households in Pennsylvania.
The mission of the Dollar Energy Fund remains the same today: To
provide assistance and tangible aid to families and individuals
experiencing difficulty in affording adequate and safe utility
supplies in order to maintain basic living standards.
All constituencies contribute to community efforts, which make
heat, light and water resources available to low-income
households as they transition to self-sufficiency.
Presently, the Dollar Energy Fund is the largest fuel fund in
Pennsylvania and the third largest fuel fund in the United
States in both clients served and dollars granted to low-income
customers.
Since its inception, Dollar Energy Fund has helped over 182,000
households and granted over $46,000,000 in utility assistance. |
