Coro Center For Civic Leadership was established in San Francisco in 1942 to conduct
research and education in the field of public affairs.
Today, there are centers in six cities across the United States
that run training programs ranging from a nine month fulltime
fellowship to community-based programs which run for a few weeks
or months. Coro seeks to strengthen communities and the
democratic process by preparing individuals for effective and
ethical leadership in the public affairs arena. Coro encourages
and facilitates greater civic engagement by individuals in this
region through exceptional, intensive programs in leadership
development.
Now in its fifth year of
operations in Pittsburgh, the Coro Center for Civic Leadership
has two overarching goals: attracting and retaining younger
leaders for the region and creating an immediate and powerful
difference in our community’s development.
Coro Center for Civic Leadership has trained more than 600
program participants through its renowned national Fellows
Program in Public Affairs and its Regional Institute
programs which serve various local needs. These regional
programs include those with a specific industry or demographic
focus including the Coro Community Problem-Solving Fellowship,
the Health Sciences Fellowship, the Information Technology
Leadership Program,
the Women in Leadership Program, the Emerging Leaders in Public
Affairs Program and the Neighborhood Leaders Program. |

Why River Walk Corporate Centre?
The River Walk Corporate Center features reasonable rent
as compared to downtown locations. The buildings are close and
convenient to Downtown, Station Square, and
the shops and restaurants of the South Side. Public
transportation is easy and available via the T and PAT buses.
The maintenance crew
is responsive to tenant needs, and the building management is
very flexible and adaptive in
working with current and potential tenants. Coro was very
pleased to create a “green” building space, and the building
owners are committed to using green building aspects
for future projects.
The space throughout
the River Walk complex lends itself to
creative and flexible floor plans. Windows are newly updated
and fully functional, allowing for the option of fresh air in
the offices. In addition, the original brickwork in the building
is simply amazing and soothing to work within. |
