ALung Technologies, Inc. is a medical device company that is developing the world’s first commercial artificial lung — the Hattler Catheter. The device is scheduled to be launched worldwide in 2006.

The Hattler Catheter is a breakthrough artificial lung device that for the first time will provide an alternative to mechanical ventilation. By delivering oxygen
to the blood and removing carbon dioxide from the blood via a catheter, the Hattler Catheter delivers significantly safer and less expensive respiratory support than mechanical ventilation, the current standard of care.

The device is capable of supporting patients with acute
breathing problems for 7-10 days, providing their lungs a bridge to recovery.  The world’s first commercial artificial lung — the Hattler Catheter has been spun out of the Artificial Lung
Laboratory at the University of Pittsburgh, McGowan Institute of Regenerative Medicine.  The company's management team
and scientific advisors have extensive business and clinical experience in the respiratory industry and medical devices.

Why River Walk Corporate Centre?

The unique South Side building architecture combined with
ample natural light were very appealing to us. We needed
modern and flexible space to accommodate the build-out
of a state-of-the-art “clean room”, model shop and laboratory to design and produce cutting edge medical devices.  As a company with plans for substantial growth, we were also attracted by the ability to expand within the facility.

We sought space where our scientists and employees could
work in comfort, while still allowing us to meet with our
prospective customers, investors and visitors alike.

The River Walk complex offers us an excellent location, with
easy access to the Universities and the downtown business
district, making access to the site easy for both people and
materials. Our employees enjoy close proximity to dining and entertainment facilities in Station Square, the South Side
and downtown Pittsburgh. The management of the River Walk Corporate Center made it very easy for us. They made every attempt for us to begin operations as soon as we moved in.
